Great Scott, who is that girl that's freaking out
So it's that time of the year again..... FLU Shots.
My day started innocently enough, spa, mani -pedi, a quiet lunch with my friends and a great day at the mall, oh who am I kidding that was someone else's life, my day began, with temperatures so hot I thought I was in a sauna, a broken nail, a pop-tart for lunch and doing laundry, that was followed by being a school teacher watching my kids doing school, driving from one end of LA to another for auditions and listening to the Drama of the day and I don't mean from the kids .
Back to my day, so after my busy morning my 13 year old Alyssa asked me to get her something to clear up her skin, I gave her my advice and she said thanks mom but can we go to the Doctor to get real medical advice on how to get rid of "the sandpaper on my skin", her words, not mine, "I swear"
I took her to the drug store Clinic to get her issue resolved, and then the Doctor says the words every kid dreads, "it's time for your yearly flu shot, now I'm not going to say I was thrilled to have mine done, but I know it had to happen and today was good as any, surprisingly Alyssa was ok with it, then the Doctor spotted my 8 year old Madison and said we might as well give her one to, and this is where the adventure began, the minute Madison realized she was going to get a shot, she screamed, NOOOOOOOO,
Now I don't know how many of you watch horror films but if you do, you know the part where the girl runs screaming at the top of her lungs because she is being chased by the scary guy, in the mask, well Madison could beat that girl any day of the week both in the level of her scream volume and the speed in which she ran, When I finally caught her she had the strength of superman., I had to get reinforcements to help me get her into the room..
What happened next can only be described as the sequel to "scream", the movie, we went into the room, well not so much as went more like I practically carried her in, it was a wild ride for the Doctor, Madison flailed around and began trying to get away from the Doctor and get out of the room, and had a scream that could rival the screams of the people who are running from the bulls in Spain.
I now have proof that motherhood has it's funny moments, because even though Madison was screaming I couldn't help but laugh, not just any laugh, it was a laugh so hard you cry, it wasn't the screaming that was funny it was her reactions, that were so over the top that made me laugh, now don't go judging me because if you are a mom I am sure you have had those moments when your child comes to you to tell you that their sibling has kicked her, hit her , bit her, fill in the blank, but when they first come in the room they are all smiles and then at the right moment when they know they have your attention the tears come out, so you know they can be very dramatic.,
This was a scene that most mom's have had happen at one time or another, the tantrum that was so loud that everyone in the western Hemisphere hears, and sometimes you wish you had video to document it to show your child how they looked like a crazed squirrel, all over a 2 second shot, the most ironic part for me was the fact that this is the same child who plucked her own eyebrows and didn't flinch at all.
And then the video was revealed, yes when her sister realized this was YouTube worthy she and her friend wasted no time and recorded the whole thing which is now known as "The scream heard round the world."
When the screaming and shot was over her sister, being a typical sister proceed to show the video over and over again, which led to more screaming, ok this time it was from me telling her to leave her sister alone.
Once the madness was over Madison watched the video with a whole new outlook, she is now the newest YouTube star and she wants everyone to see her video which she now calls her audition tape for the next scary movie..
Go figure.
